Aims of stylistics

The aims of stylistics courses are to
  • teach to write and speak well
  • improve the style of the writer
  • show the writer means of enhancing their ability to express their ideas.
Stylistics has a practical value: teaching students to master the language and working out a conscious approach to language. 

Stylistics deals with individual style - expressive means and stylistic devices peculiar to a given writer, which makes that writer's works or even utterances easily recognizable.
